Licensed Massage Therapist
Laura LaStrand LMT, MS, RYT
Hello Lovely Humans! My name is Laura LaStrand. I am a licensed massage therapist with a diverse background as a therapeutic yoga educator, biomedical engineer, and social scientist.
Approach to Massage:
I approach massage through a somatic and trauma-Informed lens that facilitates an active relationship between my hands and the person on my table. I use an array of myofascial and neuromuscular massage techniques integrated with the yoga therapeutics of breath, facilitated stretch, and meditation. My approach to massage therapy is adapted to each person on my table with the aim of relieving pain while cultivating a constitution of compassion from within. Long held strokes and intentional touch helps to slow down the mind, ground the nervous system, and melt away dysfunctional holding patterns. I adore somatic bodywork and I am so honored to call massage therapy my job.
For more than a decade, I have used a holistic approach (nourishing food, appropriate exercise, & yoga therapeutics) to address my own complex PTSD and autoimmune disease. With less flare ups, better pain management, and a compassionate practice, I am learning each day to appreciate the art of repair.

Outside of Work:
Outside my work, I have a loving partner that I am fortunate enough to explore this world with. I cook most of what I eat; and wash dishes far more often than I like. I seek knowledge, walk boundaries, and conspire with weeds. I am a storyteller, aspiring herbalist, and mudlover -- one who enjoys a day that ends with stained knees, mud crusted boots, and forage to feast upon with friends.
