Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy for all ages. We accept Medicare

Our highly skilled Physical Therapists treat orthopedic, neurologic, vestibular, sports specific, post surgical and cardiovascular injuries and pathologies.

Physical Therapy at Sana begins with a thorough initial evaluation and skilled assessment in order to determine each client’s personalized course of treatment.  We set the highest standard of care with each treatment session being one hour of one-on-one manual and/or exercise therapy with a licensed physical therapist without the use of aides or assistants. Your therapist will never pass you to an aide or assistant or leave you to treat another patient. Our private treatment rooms provide a calming environment and our providers will recommend an examination and treatment approach for you that will be based on current research and best practice guidelines. Your physical therapist will provide you with a sustainable program as you progress with your care, so your problems remain in the past.

What to Expect:

Your first physical therapy appointment at Sana will involve an in-depth evaluation of your injury by a licensed physical therapist. You and your therapist will discuss your history, current functional limitations and goals for treatment. Once we have a clear picture of what is going on it is easier to help you more effectively, so we will ask you a lot of questions about your pain or difficulty and will perform tests and maneuvers to determine the cause of your symptoms. We will also evaluate any limitations you may have in range of motion, strength and function so we can set goals for your recovery. In most cases your first visit will involve some treatment and education in what you can do on your own before your next visit. Each of our physical therapists is licensed in the state of New York, experienced in Manual Therapy and functional assessment, trained in Pilates and Yoga for Rehabilitation, and skilled in treating many types of orthopedic and neurological disorders. All physical therapy sessions are one-on-one and 50 minutes in duration.

Coverage & Cost:

We accept insurance for physical therapy. We are in-network with certain insurance plans and out-of-network with others. Deductibles, Co-pays and Co-insurance vary according to plan coverage — we are happy to find out what your particular plan covers. Your financial responsibility will be discussed with you prior to your first visit.

Direct Access: If you are using your health insurance to pay for Physical Therapy, a doctor's prescription is required.

New York is what is known as a "direct access" physical therapy state.

This means patients in New York who need physical therapy can now go

directly to their physical therapist without having to wait to receive a referral

from a physician, greatly reducing the time it takes to begin restorative

treatment. You are allowed to directly access the services of a physical

therapist for 10 visits or for a period of 30 days, which ever occurs first.

You will need to fill out some paperwork before we get started. We will email this to you or you can arrive a few minutes early to complete it.

Please bring the following with you:

  • Your prescription for physical therapy if you have one

  • Your ID

  • Your insurance cards

  • Form of payment

  • Any imaging or other studies that you would like to share with your Physical Therapist

  • Medicare patients - please bring with you a complete list of all medications currently taking (drug, dosage, frequency, route)

  • If you have not completed your intake online, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete new patient paperwork
